please chime in if you're one of my kindred spirit that happens to literally be trapped in due to strong family/friends ties, or plain fear of being abandoned in old age.. although leaving the org is my ultimate wish and desire, fear of the unknown, fear of how it would change my family dinamics, plain fear alone paralyzes me.

For all of the worse case scenarios I imagined would happen if I left, none of them were as bad as I imagined. AND the freedom and success were better than I could have imagined. Being free is worth any sacrifice.
You will make new friends if you allow yourself to. You will find new interests and they can all be of your own choosing.
i'm having some serious issues with my child, she is now 5 and her mother is teaching her all sorts of things regards god, jehovah is real, in heaven, pray if you're scared, etc.
the problem is the kid is scared of demons at night and also conflicted that i don't believe, she also figured out jehovah doesn't actually help her not to be scared.. i've tried explaining that i'm there for her, watching over at night.
i've tried introducing her to various churches and beliefs so she understands there is a difference in believes and she likes those churches better than kingdom hall.
For my niece, I told her different people believe different things. And that I didn't believe in that kind of thing, and it was up to her if she believed in it or not. And I assured her she didn't need to worry about me dying at Armageddon I would be ok.
my mom and sisters have not had any contact with my family for the past year and a half.. we even recently announced a new pregnancy and none of them acknowledged it or called to say congratulations or anything.. this past week my non-witness grandfather passed away and i had thought that for the sake of his death and funeral, it being "necessary family business" that they would at least be civil in front of our other family.
all of them still ignored me, my sisters didn't even speak to my children at all - to be honest i don't think my kids even knew who they were.
for the sake of my grandmother i made a small attempt at the end of the day to say goodbye to my mother and she kind of just brushed past me and said goodbye without really looking at me.. anyways my grandmother told me later that my mom spoke to her and said "i love my daughter and i love my grandchildren and i'm so upset that she won't allow me to see them".
I had to let go of my family. You are not responsible for your family's bad behavior, and there is nothing wrong in not allowing yourself to be treated badly by them. When they want to act like normal human beings they are welcome in your life until then, they are only victimizing themselves. They are trying to manipulate and control you, don't fall for it.
After many years my parents finally came around and we have a decent relationship, my siblings still do not speak to me. And it's better that way.

i look back on it now and marvel at how isolated i was.
I don't think it's always the case for home schooled kids. But the ones who are forced to pioneer and home school entirely on their own are robbed of so many experiences and of a well rounded education. The girl that I knew personally, her parents worked full time and she was either in service with other uneducated persons, or was home alone supposedly Doing her school work Independantly. This was before the internet, so her world was very limited.

Lol - I like the glass top cleaner, you rub it on and then wipe it off with a dry cloth, and everything is perfect. Also the glass cleaner that comes in the black spray can is amazing. I can clean anything without streaks with that stuff.

I had a homeschooled roommate once. She was sadly one of the kids whose parents were not involved on her schooling. She had no idea about countries and continents. She wasn't stupid, just uneducated. Sad really.

I had one of those Jenn air ranges with the grill - pain in the ass to clean. Never again on one of those. The last glass top range I had was pretty easy to clean as long as you used the cleaner made for it.

You are correct they no longer make the "pilot" light kind of stoves. We have a generator so power outages aren't really an issue.

Good point, except I don't ever watch those cooking shows 😜. I actually like to cook and experiment with new things. Because I have always had electric appliances, I was torn about which way to go. Now I know.
to all you young and old alike what would you have as a farewell party from this earth , would you party with friends months before or would you go out quietly and rather have input into the wake.

Definitely a celebration of life. Where everyone is welcome and allowed to grieve in their own way. Telling funny stories, crazy times, sweet moments. My husband and so have also told each other that whatever decisions are made, know it's ok. If something should happen all we want is for the other to find happiness again, however that happens.
